The latest KeyShot Studio update brings features that power users have been waiting for. Apple GPU support, cloud rendering, node grouping in the material graph, and a massive bug fix sweep that clears the way for a smoother daily workflow. Here’s everything in version 2026.2.
Apple GPU Support (Beta): Up to 50x Faster
KeyShot Studio 2026.2 adds support for hardware-accelerated ray tracing and direct rendering on Apple GPUs, joining existing NVIDIA and AMD GPU support on Windows PCs.
On the latest M5 chips, the performance improvement can reach 30 to 50 times compared to rendering on Apple CPUs, depending on the scene. The feature is compatible with all M1 and newer chips, though hardware-accelerated ray tracing requires M3 or newer for best results.
Cloud Rendering: KeyShot Power Without Local Hardware Limits
KeyShot Cloud Rendering brings the platform’s rendering power to the cloud, making it possible to render product visuals faster and at the output quality needed without disrupting the local workflow.
The service supports both GPU-accelerated and CPU-based rendering, giving access to high-performance hardware without relying on local machine resources. Rendered assets can be tracked and downloaded across multiple machines from a centralized view.
Cloud Rendering requires KeyShot Studio version 2026.2 or later.
Node Grouping in the Material Graph
One of the most-requested features from the community has finally arrived. In the 2026.2 material graph, it’s now possible to group individual nodes together, assign custom names, colors, inputs, and outputs to each group. A long-awaited improvement for anyone working with complex material setups that were hard to read and maintain.
100+ Bugs Fixed
The KeyShot team reviewed automatic crash reports, support cases, and feedback from the Luminaries community to identify and fix the most common issues. Key fixes include:
Colorways now save reliably when colors are only referenced in submaterials, keeping workflows intact across more complex material setups. Library search now treats separate words correctly, making asset discovery faster and more accurate in large libraries. Background renderings now auto-populate in the Gallery, fixing a missing link in that feature. GPU output in interior-lighting scenes is now cleaner with less noise. And the Pattern tool has been massively optimized, making it much faster to create large combinations of models.
Smoother Animation Editing
Adding keyframe animations is now more direct: it’s possible to create a new keyframe animation on any selected part or camera by simply adding the first keyframe in the animation timeline window, skipping the step of first creating the animation before placing the keyframe.
Horizontal scrolling of the animation timeline is also now supported via mouse wheel on devices with sideways scroll, or by holding Shift and scrolling up or down on standard mice.
Additional Improvements
Scripting improvements optimize the execution of larger scripts and add functionality for creating, editing, and deleting object and camera keyframe animations through code. Version 2026.2 also adds support for importing Maya 2027 files directly into KeyShot Studio. GLTF/GLB compression has improved significantly, with exported models now two to three times smaller than in previous versions. And the Cutaway material now works correctly in GPU mode, matching the behavior it already had in CPU mode.

Frequently Asked Questions About KeyShot Studio 2026.2
Which Apple chips are compatible with GPU support in KeyShot 2026.2?
GPU support is compatible with all M1 and newer Apple chips. However, hardware-accelerated ray tracing — which delivers the highest performance — requires M3 or newer.
What is KeyShot Cloud Rendering and how does it work?
It’s a service that enables rendering in the cloud, accessing high-performance hardware without depending on the local machine. It supports GPU-accelerated and CPU-based rendering, and generated files can be downloaded across multiple machines. Requires KeyShot Studio version 2026.2.
Is node grouping compatible with existing projects?
Yes. Node grouping is a new material graph feature available in 2026.2 that can be applied to any project opened in this version.
