Smarter Renders Start Here: Discover What’s New in KeyShot Studio 2025.2

KeyShot Studio 2025.2 is here, and it’s packed with tools designed to supercharge your creative process. From the debut of KeyShot Studio AI to precision lighting controls and smarter materials, this update gives you more ways to create, refine, and render—faster than ever. Here’s a look at what’s new.
Introducing KeyShot Studio AI
We’re excited to launch new AI capabilities in Studio 2025.2. KeyShot Studio AI gives you three new ways to amplify your creativity—whether you’re exploring styles, building scenes, or dreaming up what’s next. Everything runs locally and fits right into your existing workflow, with you in full control.

Faster fine-tuning with Light Layers
If you’ve ever felt the need to make lighting compromises, this new tool is for you. With Light Layers, you can now limit the effect that a primitive light has on just the surfaces and parts you choose. This means that you can simply dial in the perfect lighting for each part.
Designers will find this especially helpful towards the end of the lighting process when an overall lighting setup has already been established, and the goal is to tweak the highlights on the different parts in the scene without spending a lot of time on compromises.

Achieve instant variation in background objects with Randomization Nodes
Nothing looks more unrealistic than a bland, repetitive background – but who wants to spend time tweaking individual floor tiles or wood panels? If natural variation is your goal, the new Randomization Nodes tool is what you need.
Now available in the Material Graph, Randomization Nodes allows you to quickly create random variation inside a material that breaks repeating patterns. Material graphs can now use the new “Random float,” “Random shader” and “Random UV shift” nodes to generate randomness that is unique for every instance of the material, meaning that each part the material is applied to look different without requiring any duplicates of the single original material.
The random numbers from these nodes can be used in many creative ways: like all other nodes in the material graph, they can be connected to numerous different other nodes and drive different parameters this way. See the difference in the before and after images below.
A few examples of what you can do with this new capability:
- randomly offset UV coordinates, giving each stone tile or wooden panel its own look and grain pattern
- make individual stone tiles slightly darker or brighter
- move parts randomly via displacement

A faster-performing KeyShot Cloud Library
KeyShot Studio 2025.2 includes an updated KeyShot Cloud Library. The new Cloud Library replaces the legacy library and brings faster performance, enhanced security, and more high-quality content from our partners.
Here’s what to expect:
- Users on KeyShot Studio 2025.2 (or newer) will be able to browse and download assets directly into Studio—just like before, only faster and smarter.
- Users on older versions of Studio (any version previous to 2025.2) can still browse the new Cloud Library, but will need to download and import assets manually.
The new KeyShot Cloud Library is designed for seamless use with KeyShot Studio 2025.2. If you are using a previous version of KeyShot Studio, we recommend updating to 2025.2, or visiting our support page for additional details on using the Cloud Library with older versions of KeyShot Studio.
AMD GPU updates
KeyShot Studio 2025.2 introduces the ability to render using select AMD GPU graphics cards to offer more flexibility and compatibility than ever before. At launch, rendering support for AMD graphics cards is available for Radeon RX 7000, Radeon RX 9000, and Strix Halo graphics cards.*
*This feature is currently in active development and is offered within the KeyShot Studio 2025.2 release in a public beta state.
Improved Color Picker
The improved Color Picker removes any fuss when picking colors, creating and managing multi-colors, and linking or unlinking colors.
New Pantone Dualities palette
KeyShot Studio 2025.2 includes 175 new colors from PANTONE Dualities Palette, a collection of new age pastels and shadows. The colors are available for both the cotton and plastic PANTONE palettes in the color library.
New Solidworks plugin
The new Solidworks plugin remedies the issue of decals disappearing, so you can import logos, labels, etc. reliably. Download here.
